Juliana has little to no interest in the Season. She’d much rather be studying her ladybugs than worrying about marriage. Spencer is also not concerned about his love life seeing as he has just been assigned his first mission by the War Office to root out a spy. Unfortunately for their plans, sparks fly when Spencer suspects that Juliana might be the spy he’s searching for.
This adorable romance pays homage to the Regency romances written by the authors like Georgette Heyer while still leaving room for intrigue and classic YA coming of age themes. It’s an enjoyable, quickly paced read that will appeal to both romance enthusiasts and those who prefer spies. I would recommend this book for anyone that enjoys Jane Austen and other “manner novels.”
